Is that creature called simply a "fly" in Australia? In the States, it is a dragonfly. A voracious predator, but a poor second place to its own larvae, whose mouthpiece was the inspiration for the star of "Alien"'s eating apparatus.

They're called dragonflies here too. In this cace the bug's name is Fly. That's "bug" as in listening device.
