One of the reasons I cling to good old WordPerfect: It's "reveal codes" function, which permits you to go in and take out extraneous formatting and other information.

Never mind "sensitive" information - Word produces documents that are bloated beyond belief!

Ooh, another WordPerfect user - which version do you use?

This just confirms my belief that Word is evil!

After using 6.0 forever and ever, I just switched to 8 during an upgrade to Windows XP. So far it's not too annoying.

Sorry but the British Government is full of prats who don't know what they are doing. :)

Being British gives me the right to slag off my own government >:)

Heh, "What you don't see is what you get" is what I call it, there is so much extraneous formatting in a Word Document file that there's no wonder why file sizes start at around 30 KB.

I'll stick with plain text and WordPerfect, thank you.

Woohoo, another WordPerfect user!

I use Word to format most of my reports, but I export them to Acrobat for the final product. For one thing it (usually) produces smaller documents, and it also makes it a bit tougher for the recipient to make a couple of changes and claim the work as his own (that's rare, but I've had it happen).

Heh.

If you want to listen to a lawyer laugh his ass off - send him a contract in Word.
