Uni

I just recieved notification that CSU has put me on probation. I must pass ITC129 JAVA this semester or they'll not let me continue with the course. ITC129 is a core subject, not a Major or Minor, so I can't drop it and pick up another. Next year I can fiddle about and pick a non-programming line but that isn't an option this year.

What a bugger.

I'm betting you've got some LJ friends who know java. I don't do java, but perhaps if you asked, you could get some online tutoring.

I have! And I've lined up some tutoring here in town. THere are a couple of java programmers at the uni.

Good for you. I'm sure you'll pass this time 'round.

A question that comes to mind is whether the exam is determined on assignment work during the semeester or on examination at the end of the semester.

The latter is harder as it's difficult to determine what they might ask you to code. The very short course I did in Java concentrated on in-class moving graphics with students working in collaboration. It's a variation of C or C++. C isn't the easiest or nicest language on the planet (IMHO) and C++ a disaster (except for those who think mathematically).

However computer science has to include programming (IMHO).
