I got up early enough today to catch the 7am news bulletin on the Sunrise program on Channel 7. It reminded me of a comment made by one of the presenters, David Kosh, last week

The news article then showed President Bush on safari, where his jeep was stopped by a pair of elephants doing the thing mummies and daddies do when they love each other in that special way. The camera cut back to the presenters in the studio.

"That's what he did to Iraq," said Kosh.

His co-presenter collapsed into a fit of giggles and couldn't do her segment, and the news reader couldn't read the weather.

I love live broadcasts, especially those that aren't "safe" like the Today Show.

I'm always really emabarassed to ask people to explain their jokes, but I honestly don't get this and I love having a laugh at our president's expense...So what's what Bush did in Iraq? Watched elephants having sex?

Though a bit incorrect, since I'm guessing that the top elephant isn't raping (or similar) the bottom one. People tend put "loving sex" and "rough sex"[/blunt] together and assume they mean the same; I'm quite sure they do not mean that Bush loves Iraq.
(though technically I wouldn't know what kind of intercourse elephants do, and thus is not really a good source of judgement in this matter)

I'm pretty sure in the contect of the TV show...it was a split second amusing witty comment. And as a split second witty comment it is rather funny.

It was pretty much what dizz said. "He fucked Iraq." It was a throw-away said on a national live broadcast and the producer elected to not kick in the 7second delay.
