Boobook

I rescued a small boobook owl this morning. I don't know what's wrong with hiim. He's holding his wings as though they are both dislocated but I can't find any bone problems. They're just ... floppy. He may have a concussion, or he'd been attacked by a larger raptor. That's highly likely given that even barn owls are twice his weight.

I'm keeping him overnight to see if he improves at all.

He might have a concussion. Did you find him near a window at all? It sounds like something cognitive is wrong. He might have brained himself. Sometimes it takes a bird 2 to 6 hours to recover. I speak from experience, my folks have birds run into their picture window a lot.
They sort of lie there and twitch. There's not much else they can do:(. And these are songbirds.

Poor Boobook! The only other thing I can think of is injestion of poison or a toxin, which would mean it consumed something like a mouse that was already dying from something it injested. Hopefully it's just a brainer.

Paws crossed that he is fine
