On the news last night they showed the burnt out remains of the Mount Stromlo Observatory. All that is left is the blackedned dome the foundations of the service buildings.

Date: 19 Jan 2003 07:48 (UTC)Those are scary pictures! The first one is amazing, I'd be amazed if that vehicle didn't explode less than a minute later! In Colorado when there's
high enough draught/fire warning no one is allowed
to start fires anywhere in the backpack areas of the
parks and they monitor the fire rings.That doesn't solve the problem of lighting as a culprit:P, alas.
