Twelve Days

Pours a deep, reddish brown with a small head that fades away rapidly. Not much carbonation visible.

First Sip: Dark, roasted malts, a pleasant nuttiness, and a faint coffee and dark chocolate taste, all of which fade away quickly to leave a long, lingering hoppy bitterness. Medium mouth-feel with a mild carbonation tingle. The flavours grow stronger as the glass warms.

You know how Scooby-Doo reacts when he is given a Scooby Snack? That was me with this beer. Twelve Days is a very yummy dark ale brewed in Babury. I am annoyed that I passed through the town without knowing about this beer, and didn't stop at any pubs. I will not make that mistake again! On the back label is a message from the brewer, ending with the note that it is "a fine partner to the cheese board. Cheers." Cheers indeed! And I just happen to have a nice bitey cheddar to nibble and wash down. This is a yummy beer.
