den: (Beer)
Something from the Abbey (that looks suspiciously like a commercial brewery)

Grimbergen Dubbel

Pours a dark brown with a small head that lasts for ages. Deep ruby colours shine through the glass.

First Sip: Medium hops and dark toast up front, with a lingering sweet malt and caramel on the finish. Mouth feel is smooth with tingly carbonation on the tongue.

This is a yummy beer. Tasting the hops up front instead of malt was a surprise, but it was pleasent. Even though the alcohol content is only a little less than the Delerium Tremens of last night, it is much subtler and refined. This one leaves a nice warm feeling in the belly and none of the raw alcohol taste.
