Working on weekends sucks. Home now, drinking a very yummy beer.

Another wheat beer from Germany. I have quite a few from this brewery.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel

This dark beer pours a deep coppery colour, cloudy from yeast. It has a large creamy head that fades very slowly.

First Sip: Nice toasted wheat malt with a slight dark chocolate taste and yeastiness. A mild hops gives slight bitterness at the end. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy with a mild carbonation tingle on the tongue. Nothing really dominates; it all makes a really yummy whole.

Once again, as the beer warms in the glass, the flavours become stronger. The wheat malt in particular stands out, but the yeast is more subdued than the last Hefe-Weissbier. This beer makes me sad that I generally avoid wheat beers. I have been missing out.

This is a yummy beer.
