The beerquest heads to Germany and Austria next. I am daunted.

But first, a quick trip back to Czech Republic...

A quick return to the Czech Republic for some Zlatopramen Lager

Zlatopramen Extra Premium

This Czech lager pours a deep golden colour with small frothy head that fades quickly to a thin head. Not too much carbonation, but enough to keep the head up.

First sip: Nice, but nothing really stands out. A bit malty, a bit hoppy, very beery. It has a nice crisp-but-not-too-dry finish. Mild carbonation tingle on the tongue. A nice, pale lager. Even the beer burp is nice. It is also pasteurized, and I think that is what killed the exceptional parts and left the nice parts. On the bottle it says "A light lager beer" but at 5.1% I wouldn't call it light.

A nice beer that stays nice all the way to the bottom of the bottle. Nothing special but it's nice. I can see myself in a pub in Prague drinking this on a mild Spring day.

I think I'll add that to my list of Things To Do. Who wants to come?

Zlatopramen Extra Premium.
Pivovar Zlatopramen (In Czech, with sound. I didn't know Czech Republic had surf and beaches!)
