16 June 2004 22:33The first stage of the program is to extend a fibre backbone from Lithgow to Orange in 2004-05. Under stage two the backbone will continue through to Dubbo in 2005-06. The total cost of both stages will be almost $11 million.
So Dubbo will be on the fiber-optic backbone by 2006.

The rest of the world will be fiber to lounge-room by then. Living in The Bush is losing its appeal.

16 June 2004 23:04I'm sick of French Bashing. It is hackneyed, cliched and not funny. The fact that it keeps showing up is annoying, and to my mind using it is a waste of space that could have been better used to be amusing in.
