I wrote about the Goodiman inn here. The poor building is now more tumbled down than when I first saw it 10 years ago.

Tonight we were talking to the ex-mayor of Mudgee. He was telling us about how he'd been trying to get all sorts of heritage listings and restorations for old buildings in that area, and he mentioned the Inn. It is the last existing structure left of a network of stage inns and stations used by Cobb And Co to transport mail and people around the west of the state during the late 1800s.

"My great-great grand father built that," said Dad, and told the councillor about Bristol Bill.

Now we're getting together a heap of info about the old bloke for the Mudgee Council. If they act now they'll be able to restore the old pub before it becomes too decayed to save. Which is nice.
