Baby bats

Had a call to day. The kid said he'd found some baby bats in a tree. The were tiny and had their eyes closed. I thought "okay. it's a fully grown bat, sleeping."

When I arrived he handed me a big pile of grass containing a feather-lined hollow. Inside were two one-day-old sparrow chicks.

Sometimes the bogans around me leave me breathless.
