Essay assignment

Finished an essay assignment for uni on the Ethics of Spam and emailed it to the lecturer.

I received an email from him saying the essay arrived with 6 UCEs. HA! And he says there is nothing ethically wrong about spam, even though it is a pain in the arse.

Nice essay. One thing you don't cover is the fact that 90% of UBE is from non-legitimate sources (porn, scams, some 14-year-old warez d00d distributing his warez, etc). Because of this, the entire method is tainted. UBE is not an effective method of advertising because most people regard UBEs as bogus.

I'm always puzzled by the attitude some people have that spamming isn't unethical. I'm not sure if it's a perception threshold thing or if it's because they're just wired differently or what.
