The refrigerator is broken. Some time last night it stopped, so this morning I woke to cool-not-cold milk and almost thawed frozen foods in the freezer.

I lost a small amount of icecream, some frozen veggies and all the ice cubes. The meat is still frozen but it's not at freezer temps - the surface has almost thawed but the core is solid. The pies and pizza I can eat today.

Luckily I have the beer fridge in the laundry so the milk, eggs, and margarine are safe. And I have a small spare freezer so the meat is safe.

You caught it quick enough. When my spare freezer died, I had like eight pizzas in it, all room temperature and stacked on their edges. Except the pull of gravity and the action of the yeast transformed them into giant "pizza pockets". I ate them anyway. Food shalt not go to waste! Unless it's moldy and/or deadly poisonous. Then I'll consider maybe not eating it.

I was lucky - I didn't lose anything. The evening meal was a little odd: meat pies and pizza. But I *didn't* waste any food!

The frozen veggies were lost but they don't count.

Alas the poor veggies. Buried with all due pomp and ceremony at the foot of the garden, resting in peas.
