In about 30 minutes, then final bit of paperwork and cheque passing will be done by the solicitor, and then I will own a house.

I just need to buy a fridge, washing machine, couches, outdoor furniture, cooking food in things, eating food from things, and organize power, water, phone and internet.

Actually ...you dont' own the house. the bank or whoever's money it is, does. ...until you pay them back :)

Trust me, my folks had the REAL good feeling - that day when your last payment has cleared the bank, and you can burn the mortgage and /really/ be a Homeowner.

(And through my considerable efforts, it hasn't crumbled - yet...)
