Now what? Now the US military decision makers will announce that since the primary objective has been achieved, there is no more need for Our Boys to be over there getting killed and wounded, and will withdraw all forces from the area. This will leave Iraq in much worse shape than before we arrived, fomenting further hatred of the US.
