Batted

No longer batless.

I was handed a black, dripping beastie. The lady had found the bat clinging to the chlorine dispenser in the pool. When I picked him up a ew hours later he was still sopping wet. An hour in a warm bat tent dried him out nicely.

He's another young broadnosed bat; the same species as the utter bastard from the other pool and Florence. Except he's very quiet. I don't know who much water he drank, so I'll keep him a few days to see how things go. He ate a dozen meal worms, which is good.

Bat!

Good to see he ate lots. So what's the name? Are you up to g? Geronimo? Gerald? Goober?

I told you it wouldn't be long before another customer wandered in.

It would seem that particular species isn't very bright when it comes to avoiding mishap. Is it common for bats in general to get into so much trouble, or is it something about that species or something they need that human habitation messes up for them?

Exciting! Do we get to see a picture?

Godot?:)

Well, you weren't exactly *waiting* for him to show up....... after having nearly drowned water is the last thing any sane critter would want to look at. At least for a while.

Goober is good, but Geronimo is appropriate. Gustafson seems a bit wrong for some reason.

At this time of year the pups from last year start trying to fly. Each species have their own launch dates. It's the broadnosed bat's time now. Young bats don't have the experience to stay out of trouble.
