Around The World In 80 Beers Episode 97: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Also...

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Pours a clear amber with a moderate amount of carbonation. The head is large (pour fail!) and frothy, and fades away slowly to a small head with lots of class-cling.

First sip: A lot of malt (not sweet malt) and hops up front, with a touch of tangy citrus. A lingering hops bitterness afterwards. Mouth-feel is creamy and smooth, and a little astringent.

So far every US beer I've tried either sucked or was, at best, mediocre - and those two were Samuel Adams and Lone Star. For years my US friends have been telling me that there are US beers that didn't suck. And now I believe them. This is a nice beer. The lingering hops encourages you to drink it slowly. It would be an excellent brew to drink cold on a hot day.

...mm. Nice beer burp, too!
