Around The World In 80 Beers Episode 56: Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

Another from the dark depths of Bedford.

Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Pours a deep opaque black with a medium-sized, creamy tan head.

First sip: Dark chocolate and roasted sweet malt. The hops shows up mid-taste and lingers, leaving a slightly astringent dryness. Mouth-feel is smooth and creamy and... chewy.

My goodness this is good! It's highly drinkable and tasty and leaves a nice warm feeling in the belly. Even the beer-burp is nice. This is an excellent after-dinner drink, suited to a long, slow quaff.

And as it warms in the glass, it just gets better.

10 years

So, 10 years of Live Journal. You can blame [personal profile] lonita for that.

So in the first week, 10 years ago, I wrote about Writers Block -- which I still have -- boring work, potato chips, eating pepperoni, cheese and pepperoni with extra pepperoni pizza, suffering from eating pizza, Telstra telling me they will have ADSL in the area Real Soon Now (I still don't have it at home), bats, and Tove Jansson died.

10 years on and I'm still writing crap a blog.
