Around The World In 80 Beers Episode 101: Kilkenny Irish Ale

Kilkenny Irish Ale

Pours a deep amber colour with a large, soft creamy head. No carbonation visible

First Sip: Mild malt, very faint citrus. No hops to speak of until you swallow, then there is a mild lingering hops on the back of the tongue. No carbonation tingle at all. Mouth-feel is a little thin but creamy.

I'm pretty sure the nitro-can is what kills this beer. I've had it on tap and it is quite nice, but from the can it's a little bland. It's still drinkable and good for a hot day and is one of my regulars, but it could be better. It *is* better but not from a can. And like other Irish beers, it doesn't travel well. The closer to Ireland you get, the yummier it is.
